I used to watch Dr.Phil before he became a wierdo. One of the things I picked up on was loop hole phrasing. If you listen to people speak when given a task, if they’re not sure they will do it successfully, they’ll use a loop hole word. It allows them to tell you when confronted with failure, “I basically said I wouldn’t get it done.” I hear them a lot at work. I use them myself just to mess with people, manager people.
