Strip #0673

This comic was written before Barry Bonds was accused of steroid usage. Since newspapers are becoming extinct, antique seems correct. The training material reference is a joke I’ve used for many years. I think training people, especially in the service industry, a newspaper would be an awesome inscentive to get people to pay attention and learn faster. If they do something wrong, you tell them first. Do it wrong again wack’em. Rinse and repeat.

  1. Siabur says:

I was a Giants fan until the Rockies came to town. I lost interest in baseball when they went on strike in 93?? I kinda paid attention when they went to the world series. But the yammering by the announcers gets old quickly. I’d rather go to a game.

  2. One does have to remember that Bonds had/has an exceptional eye – doesn’t he have one of the highest batting averages for power hitters?

Not that I like the guy – I won a vintage Giants jersey before he signed with them, and have barely worn it in the last decade. Now that he’s gone and the Expos are toast, SF has basically become my team – they’re in the NL, they’re not spenders to the same degree as the BoSox or Yanks or whatnot, and they’re in my time zone. (It helps that they live in a city I could imagine living in, too – KC just doesn’t have the same allure…)
