Genuine Draft: Year 1
Page No.17

Strip # 224 Updated On 5/25/09 Rimminion is a millitary socialist style of government with a royal rulling council who is backed by the millitary. It’s confusing, I know. They have been fighting for most of their existance and originally the were the protectors of Mylar (the actual name of the planet as well as a country.) All will be revealed!

Strip # 225 Updated On 5/26/09 This exposition was pared down by 10 strips for several reasons. 1- It can get boring trying to film in a small set with people only talking, I’m sure drawing it would be even more tedious. 2- Everything was said at least twice per strip. Didn’t need the babbling. I bet movies are made like that.

Strip # 226 Updated On 5/27/09 I decided to make their adversarial relationship a little more obvious than the original strips that ran a few weeks ago. It also gave me some good story ideas.

Strip # 227 Updated On 5/28/09 New set. It’s the entry way to Vladeks castle. It was supposed to be a little darker with the lighting to make the scene more ominous. But my camera corrects for low light. The sepia toning of the pictures makes up for it, not to mention the Reader’s general creepyness. And then there’s the plot element being mentioned. Dramatic music, please.

Strip # 228 Updated On 5/29/09 And now we know why Mylar has been invaded. They have a plan , and the Mylar invasion wasn’t exactly something they wanted todo right away. Here is the first sign of many profecies I will throw out in Genuine Draft.

Strip # 229 Updated On 5/30/09 The jail set. One of my favorites. If you go to the behind the scenes section, you can get an idea of what it looks like and how I went aboot building it. I learned something about shiney black sets with lots of reflective surfaces, I have to wear black and pay attention to the reflections. You may see me in them. Finally, fade to color. Even though this is all 15 months ago I really didn’t want to waste these cool sets by sepia, and it can get really boring to look at.

Strip # 230 Updated On 5/31/09 It’s Bob! This story line came about when I was trying to figure out what to do after I run out of Battlemark strips. I thought I had pleanty of time to come up with something. I plotted out 2 pages worth of stuff then as I reread the comic up to the intermission, it occoured to me that Bob has been exposed to the time warp a few times, he would be transported here too. And then I knew I could move the story along quiet nicely, and with Bob, lighten it up a bit.

Strip # 231 Updated On 6/1/09 Another set that is small and lot’s of chatting. So I modified the original so I could make walls moveable and added the back wall. The reflections are cool. I love the set and filming was only bad when I had to reshoot cuz I was in the pic. So the interrogation begins. Who’s the one your sorry for?

Strip # 232 Updated On 6/2/09 The main reason for a lot of this is, to let you know what the differences are between the two realities. How one is in war and the other isn’t.

Strip # 233 Updated On 6/3/09
I’ve begun to experiment with angles and camera tricks. Panel two isn’t blurry, I intentionally focused on Bob. The original script had more dialog coming from Bob, but it wasn’t him. I’ve used this type of technique in future strips. The Infotorium. I love long technosounding words from old 1930’s through 1960’s Sci/fi movies. Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers serials with Buster Crabbe influences much of my technobabble. It only get’s worse from here!

Strip # 234 Updated On 6/4/09 Bob at his best. What else can I say?

Strip # 235 Updated On 6/5/09 Dr.Pepper is my prefered soda. No ice. I can drink it warm and flat, but with ice that melts makes it watered down. It’s a cook thing. And when you’re in a room surrounded by guards and in shackles, what are you really going to do?

Strip # 236 Updated On 6/6/09 I needed some humor, and with Bob, he makes it easy. I was going to do a fart joke but I was holding my dog while typing the script on my laptop and she burped and it was awful. Her death breath has been taken care of since. Influences for comics come from many strange places.

Strip # 237 Updated On 6/7/09 Who really cares if the subject is ready? As long as they look ready, start.
